omg, that was fantastic. So, at the end of the summer of 2009, Lucian Keough made a sweet ass video of the hoop action taking place at the Spin Cycle camp at Burning Man, complete with these crazy, gorgeous slow motion pans of amazing and beautiful hoopers all in this apparent state of hoop ecstacy that just oozes through the monitor. When it was over, I just sat there in awe. It was total hoop porn. If anybody can watch this video and not need a cigarette afterwards then they’re probably not as hoop-obsessed as some of us are. This video is total mind-blowing goodness. Hooping has created some pretty insane shifts in my life since it found me. I've been fortunate enough to take my passion and make it my career and watched the hoop community explode all over itself in a constantly increasing avalanche of Youtube videos and Facebook fan pages. It's awesome and it's insane and sometimes I like to poke a little fun about it. But mostly, I just want to ogle sick videos like this one, because it is total hoop porn, and it is awesome. |
The chest roll around 1:45-ish is pretty sweet. And overall, the whole video is a joy to watch. I finally met Kit this summer at Shambhala, when she came up to strike up a conversation after I was playing around with a toroflux on an isolation hoop. I was a little bit starstruck because I’m a fan of her style, her career, her attitude in general, and I’m pretty sure I was a bit of a tongue-tied idiot.
Also, this is the infamous Atomic hoop, the one that costs nine camels and your first-born child. I’m torn. It’s an amazing hoop to watch in action, but it’s almost overwhelming at times. It definitely beefs some otherwise average hoop moves up another level though.
